Every Story is a Fairytale ... Even the wicked ones.

Rewritten Fairytales

Interview with Autumn Archer

Why did you choose your princess?

Because she overcame the test, against extremely high odds of success.

What was your favorite fairytale growing up?

Beauty and the Beast - because not everything is based on the superficial.

What song did you listen to while writing?

There were many… The Killers, Mr. Brightside was one.

Are we ever too old to believe in fairytales?

Never, as long as we realize they don’t always have the ending we hope for.

Why did you start writing?

I’ve always had an uncontrollable imagination and needed to capture the words.

Why are modern fairytales with real people better?

Because they show the grit and reality of life without sugar-coating it.

True or False: Every author who writes a romance at some point believed in fairytales?

False

What is the toughest thing about writing?

Having too many stories in my mind and not enough time to write them all down.

How is this book different from your other books?

It was structured around a fairytale theme and usually my books just flow on their own journey.

What's the first word that pops into your head when you hear "Fairytale” ?

Make-believe

Define "fairytale" in your own words.

Where stories relay struggles and character growth to reveal a moral tale.
How long have you been writing?

Since I was a teenager.

Who are your real life secondary characters? (

My husband and my kids mainly, but also my parents, the people who encouraged me to write when I was younger.

Organize (from first to last) based on your writing process: heart, brain, conscience.

The order that is in here, my heart always wins and my conscience is always the last thing I tap into when writing
